One Love Organics Morning Glory Serum & Skin Saviour Balm | Beauty Review

10 May 2015

One of the brands I've had my eye on for probably the longest since going green is One Love Organics. This American green beauty brand had been popping up on blogs all over the place and I was eager to try something but I think nothing really stood out to me that much that I desperately needed, having such a large stash at the minute anyway. When I was offered the chance to try a couple of products, I was looking forward to the surprise as I definitely couldn't choose myself!

One Love Organics is a US based brand that is sold over here in the UK via their EU website, who have a variety of products from oils to balms and dry shampoos. I've been trying out the Morning Glory Serum* and the Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm* for quite a few months now...

The Morning Glory Serum is a "brightening complexion booster that can be applied any time of day to wake up your skin". It's full of raspberry leaf that is a rich source of polypeptides, flavonoids, tannins and niacin which works to stimulate, tighten and tone skin, vegan-sourced omega 3 fatty acids smooth appearance of fine lines and help shield skin from environmental damage whilst peppermint and lemon essential oils that are full of anti-inflammatory anti-oxidants help brighten, enliven and de-puff skin.

I'm not that keen on the scent of this one although it has grown on me slightly since I started using it. I think it's the ylang ylang that's a little strong for my liking however I love the texture of it. It's an oil but when you apply to the skin, it almost primes the skin as it's similar to a dry oil in texture and doesn't leave any shine. If you have oily skin and are worried about using oils on your face, I'd recommend starting with this as it sinks in immediately. I can't say I've noticed a huge difference in my skin since using this however it is lovely to use underneath make-up to give my skin a lovely glow and to prime skin for foundation. This is the serum I've been opting for in the mornings since I received it and it's definitely a favourite...it may even just be slightly more used than my beloved Indie Lee Squalane Oil however I still love that one too!

Ingredients: Organic wild Raspberry Leaf, Organic Lemon Balm, and Organic Sweet Mint, Capric/caprylic triglyceride, Organic essential oils of Lemon, Ylang Ylang and Peppermint

The Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm is one that Rachel (All Natural Aspirations) and the Call it Vanity girls had been raving about for quite some time so I was excited to try it. It is a multi-purpose balm that smells so good. Think citrus mixed with vanilla on a tropical island...yes...it's that good!

As it is water-less, there's no need to use any preservatives so this balm is 100% natural and has moisturising ingredients such as organic beeswax, coconut oil, oat extract and mango seed butter. It also has chia seed oil which is one of OLO signature oils as well as orange peel wax and vanilla fruit extract which gives it the delicious sweet scent. I like using this as a cleanser/make-up remover however I do feel that I need a little more than other balms I've tried to get it to cover my whole face. It leaves my skin with a lovely glow and it removes make-up really well too. I've found recently that there are tiny little balls of what I can only assume is coconut oil which makes it a little hard to smooth over my skin but it does work nicely.

However, the great thing about balms is that they are multi-purpose so I like using this to cleanse my face but it's also great for smoothing frizzy hair.

I personally wouldn't buy the balm again...it does cleanse my skin nicely, it smells amazing and it leaves my skin with a lovely glow however I am actually more in love with the Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Oil which I much prefer for cleansing over this balm but a full review will follow on that soon...

What's your favourite product from OLO? What's on your wishlist?
