From the Beehive...

25 Jan 2015

So...as you can probably see, I have a new blog design, yay! The lovely Ria from NatuRia Beauty has been working hard with all my ideas and has designed me a beautiful bee inspired blog design. What do you all think?!

To celebrate my new blog design, I gathered all the products I own that have ingredients from the beehive in them and thought I'd share my thoughts!

Routine
I won this deodorant in the Nuciya launch giveaway and it's all gone! I did experience serious irritation after a week or so as it has a lot of bicarbonate of soda which you can tell because the formula is quite gritty. However, I used coconut oil for a few days and eased myself back onto it and didn't experience any irritation after that. It smells gorgeous and kept me stink free most of the time!

Therapi Honey Skincare
Therapi are a high-end skincare range that produce cleansers, toners and moisturisers that are honey based. My favourite is the Orange Blossom Moisturiser. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, Tanya at the Whole Foods Organic Beauty Week Event back in September and she is just lovely & we were chatting away about bees & the products for ages! (review)

Wild Honey Apothecary
A recently new discovery for me, this U.S based brand use raw honey from Wisconsin in their face masks. I have the Buttermilk & Sandalwood mask which helps to brighten my skin and reduce spot size overnight. (review)

Bee Good
Not the best ingredients in some of their products but great if you're looking to go a bit more natural whilst helping the bees at the same time. My sisters loves their 3 in 1 Cleansing Water (she stole mine that I was sent and has since bought 2 more!) You can now find these in Waitrose stores & online too. (review)

JooMo
This brand has just one product - a Honey & Orange Facial Wash. The consistency is similar to honey and it smells divine. Cinnamon, clove & orange all give the all natural wash an amazing warming scent and it does a great job of cleansing my skin. Review coming soon!

 Beeutiful Bees
I had been following this brand on Twitter for quite a while but never got round to trying their products until we were very kindly given some in the Green Beauty Meet-up goody bag! I received two lip balms, one in a stick form and one in a tin. I gave the one in the tin to my Mum whilst she had a cold and unfortunately Persie managed to get it off the kitchen side and ate the tin...yep he chewed the whole tin apart to eat what was inside! But what we did try of it was really good...super super moisturising and definitely one I'd buy again. The stick one is lovely too, not as thick but the Peppermint scent is gorgeous!

Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely
NYR donate £10,000 every year to help the conservation of bees. I love their Bee Lovely Lip Balm, hand cream & body lotion. They all use honey and smell absolutely gorgeous!

Beefayre
A local brand to me, this company use natural wax in their candles and donate 3% of their profits to Bee Conservation. My favourite candles are the Orange & Jasmine, Winter Berries and Honey Lily. (review)

Chain Bridge Honey Farm
I found these two products hidden away in my stash that I must have received in a Souk Souk box last year. I have no idea how I hadn't tried them yet! The soap is made using heather honey and the lip balm smells just like beeswax and honey. I used it for the first time today and it's lovely and moisturising. I'll definitely be using this more often now! (link)

I would also love to try Rachel's Plan Bee which is a US based brand that Sandra has recently been swooning over...read her review here from Beauty Balm! And I'd love to try the Leahlani Mermaid Mask which is made with honey, chlorella & spirulina as well as a bunch of other awesome ingredients!

Any other bee based brands I haven't mentioned or you would recommend?

  3. Love the new blog design Amber! Well done to you and Ria! And what a very appropriate blog post too! Loved reading about all the different brands that focus on honey...which reminds me I may have to stock up on some honey-based products since I'm quite sparse in that department. After the challenge of course! Xx
