FOM London Anti-Ageing Hand Serum & Scrub | Beauty Review

10 Dec 2014

Freshness of the Morning are a brand I've tried a few products from, and they have recently launched a new Anti-Ageing collection featuring a hand serum and a scrub. Although I don't use particularly anti-ageing products in my everyday skin routine, I think that hands are one of the places on your body that age the quickest so I like to take care of them.
FOM London Skincare Age Defying Hand Serum and Hand Scrub

The Age-Defying Hand Scrub* is a very thick, moisturising scrub made with shea and avocado butter to soothe skin, and Grapeseed lipids that seal in moisture. The first time I tried this scrub, I absolutely loved it. It is so thick and almost gooey however it scrubs very effectively and because of the oats in the mix, it turns slightly milky on contact with water, which means it washes off really easily without leaving any residue. It is made with premium sugar crystals that effectively exfoliate skin and my hands are left feeling as soft as a babies bum! The smell is very delicate, quite like vanilla, nothing that stands out in particular but it is a lovely scent. It does have a unique blend of essential oils so if you have any sensitivities it might be worth checking with FOM what those are. It retails for £12.50 for a 60g jar but as it's so thick and gooey, you only need the tiniest amount for both your hands so it will last you a good few months.

Key Ingredients: Shea Butter, Avocado Butter, Glycerine, Premium Sugar Crystals, Oats, Grape Seed oil, Avocado Oil & FOM unique blend of essential oils to delicately dress your hands in freshness!

The Age-Defying Hand Serum* is one that I've been keeping by my bed-side table to use at night and first thing in the morning. This light moisturiser is packed with botanical extracts, hyaluronic acid, marula fruit and antioxidants to help protect your skin from free radicals and deliver moisture. It also claims to help lighten age spots which isn't something I have so I can't comment on that but thought it was worth mentioning. The ingredients list is pretty impressive and includes a few of my favourites such as squalane, shea butter, oats and a few I've not heard of or used before such as horsetail extract, Gotu Kola and Eyebright.

The scent is similar to the scrub so I guess they use the same blend of essential oils. The serum is very light and sinks into my skin quickly meaning I can use it in the morning without it affecting my morning schedule and I don't go to bed with greasy or sticky feeling hands. It is really moisturising and helps make my hands feel less dry when I've been out all day in this cold weather!

The hand serum is a little pricier than the scrub at £22.00 for 50ml however, like the scrub you only need a small amount and it's nice to have a little bit of luxury into your routine too!

They also have an offer on at the minute where you can get the Anti-Ageing Duo for just £28.00 instead of £33.50.

Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter, Squalene, Vitamins A, B , C & E, Marula Oil, Almond Oil, Gotu Kola, Alagae, Licorice Root, Rose Water, Green Tea, Eyebright, Oats, Horsetail extract, FOM special blend of age defying essential oils to combat ageing with real flowers and dress your hands in floral unique scents.

Have you tried Freshness of the Morning?

  6. Ohh this is so interesting. I've been seeing a few posts lately about how your hands age a lot faster than the rest of your skin. None of the posts included any products that were designed to help with this though, and some even recommended using your expensive face masks on your hands. This is great though, I'll have give FOM a try! Thanks Amber :)
