Lippy Girl Vegocentric Vegan Lipsticks & Discount Code with Botanical Brands

8 Oct 2014

Botanical Brands have exclusively launched Lippy Girl Vegan Lipsticks this week in the UK! Woo Woo!

Last Wednesday I popped over to see the lovely Kim from Botanical Brands at their offices in Market Harborough near to where I work. They are just down the road from Beefayre which is lovely as there are so many great natural brands near to where I live! I was lucky enough to be able to get a swatch of each of the lipsticks and Kim very kindly gave me one to review.

Lippy Girl was founded by Darcey Diehl and are a Canadian brand who make natural, organic, vegan, and cruelty-free lipsticks. None of their products are tested on animals and their products never have chemical preservatives.
I was lucky enough to be the first person in the UK (other than the lucky ladies at Botanical Brands) to try out these lipsticks and I can tell ya, they're good! The colours are beautiful, some more "out there" than others but still gorgeous. There are a range of finishes from matte to shimmery and a variety of shades so you're bound to find one that you like. The names are awesome too and the colour I chose is "Ski Bunny" which is really apt as the lipsticks are made in Whistler! Here are the swatches of the other colours along with their names...I apologise the photos aren't great quality, I took them on my phone! If you want to see some better photos, I found some on Vegan Cuts site.

My favourite shades are Fancy Pants, Ski Bunny and I really like Schmoopy which is a bit unusual for me but its a gorgeous lilac-pink shade that I think would look gorgeous on any skin tone!

Kim very kindly gave me a lipstick to review so I chose the colour Ski Bunny* which is a very pale, nude pink that reminds me a lot of my old favourite MAC Hue lipstick but much more matte. It is moisturising on the lips, feels nice & smooth and has great colour pay-off. I love the name because it does remind me of when you go ski-ing and you wear a pale lip balm or lipstick & you just look really cute! The ingredients are really nourishing and include castor seed oil, jojoba oil, carnauba wax, and shea butter and are then finished off with natural minerals to get the colours. The lipstick feels so moisturising on my lips, it's sort of in between a lipstick and a balm! This does mean that it doesn't last that long however it's still a good couple of hours! The lipstick is so soft that you have to be careful not to roll it up that much out of the tube as the bottom of mine has come slightly wobbly however that was my fault, rolling it up too much and just proves how soft & moisturising they are.
Sorry the swatch isn't on my lips....they're SO dry at the minute and the spots on my chin are hideous...I didn't want to scare you all off!

You can buy them from Botanical Brands here in the UK and if you use my exclusive code AMBER14 you can get yourselves 20% off! Woo woo happy shopping girls!

  4. Thank you for the swatches! So happy to hear there are stocked in Europe, now. I have Abraca-bam (not the most conventional one lol) but combined with a pale pink, it looks exactly like rms royal lip shine. I have the same problem with the wobbly tube, I have to be extra careful when I apply it on the lips otherwise the lipstick may fall off. xx
