Organic September Day 24: Multi-Purpose Organic Products

24 Sep 2014

The great thing about organic and natural products is that a lot of them have multiple uses, meaning you get a lot for your money. Oils can be used on your face, body and hair, and the same goes for some balms - you can use them all over!

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is one of those products that everyone knows about by now. You can buy coconut oil from many places but I got mine from Neal's Yard because I know that it will be one of the best. It's always better to opt for organic, raw and unrefined so you know all the goodness is left inside. You can use coconut oil as a leave-in treatment on your hair (I just do the ends) or as a full-body moisturiser! There are loads more uses but those are my favourites. It works great at taking off eye make-up but it does clog my pores around my eyes when I do this so I've stopped. You can also use it to do "oil pulling" which isn't something I have tried because I'm not keen on the taste of coconut but it's meant to be really good for you! Viridian also sell an organic coconut oil too!

Aloe Vera isn't one I've personally tried myself (hence no product in the photo) however I've heard great things about it. You can use it to soothe your skin (I've been trialling the Dr Alkaitis Soothing Aloe Gel which is more of a liquid formula and like that!) and as an after-sun but it also works really well on controlling frizzy hair! Rachel from All Natural Aspirations wrote this post all about it.
Wild Rose Beauty Balm is one of my favourite products from NYR as it has so many uses. I love using it as a face mask but it can also be used as a cleanser, a post-shave balm, as a moisturiser, on specific dry areas like heels & elbows and so many more areas. I really do need to pick up a full size one of these soon haha! If you're looking for something on the cheaper end of the price scale though, try Balm Balm Rose Geranium Balm! I love using this in the exact same way as the NYR WRBB and did a full review of that here

Argan Oil - Deemed as "liquid gold" this 100% organic argan oil can be used on the ends of your hair as a leave-in treatment as well as a moisturiser for your face. It works great on your hair when you've finished styling to add shine and also is lovely to use on nails & cuticles. You can buy products that have argan oil in them however they are mostly filled with other crap that won't be good for your skin. Choose 100% argan oil to get the most benefits!
Lyonsleaf aren't Soil Association certified but their products are organic & I had to include their Beauty Balm in this feature as I love it so much. I personally use it as a cleanser but it can also be used as a moisturiser, a deeply nourishing face mask or anywhere else that needs some moisture!

What products do you have more than one use for? Have I completely missed something off?!
