Organic Beauty Week Day 5: Whole Foods Soil Association Organic Beauty Event

12 Sep 2014

On Wednesday I hopped on the train down to London to go to the Whole Foods Organic Beauty Event with the Soil Association. I was so chuffed to have been invited by Nicola from Black Book Communications and I got there super early so I had some pizza, did a little bit of shopping and then headed to the Blogger Event upstairs!

I was really excited because it was in collaboration with the Soil Association so I got to meet lots of brand owners from SA certified brands as well as Emma from the Soil Association and Nicola from Black Book Communications and I left with the biggest, most generous goody bag, ever which I was not expecting at all! I didn't actually realise it was a proper blogger event until I got there as I knew Whole Foods were hosting other beauty events so I was completely blown away by the whole evening!

I vlogged a bit of the event - it was a very informal event though so there was a lot of chatting going on with the brand owners and bloggers so I didn't have a chance to vlog but hopefully you get the gist of the event and enjoy my "trying not to look like I'm vlogging in Whole Foods" part haha! Watch the video tonight!

So I headed upstairs to the event and I was about 20 minutes early so I met Nicola and Emma who introduced me to the owner of Natracare, Susie, and we were chatting away and I told her that I actually just received some of their new make-up removing wipes in the post that day which was funny! Then a few bloggers arrived as well as brand owners so I got chatting to them as well as the lovely Tamara from Rainbow Feet who I loved spending the evening with! I met Dani again from This Woman's Word and her friend Bei who writes over at Bei Fit who are both lovely girls and I also met Jane from Neal's Yard and Tracey from Vert PR who bought Grace from Z'Kin, a new organic brand from Australia that are launching in the UK! Then we had a little Q&A with Emma from the Soil Association who told us all about certification and what it means then brand owners had their chance to talk to us too! There was Tanya from Therapi, Sarah from Pai, Susie from Natracare, Abi from Essential Care and Lou from Neal's Yard as well as Ines, who buys beauty for Whole Foods who were all talking to us about why they think certification is important and how much of a pain it is because the SA are so strict haha! But most importantly that it means they are delivering truly organic products with ingredients that you can source back so you know where they come from and that they are good for your skin, health & the environment. It was a lovely event and I'm so happy I got to talk to some brand owners and other bloggers. I had to nip off at 8:30pm as I had to catch my train (I just got there on time, phew!) but I had a lovely evening so I'd just like to say thank you to the Soil Association, Whole Foods and the lovely ladies at Black Book Communications for organising the event and for the amazing goody bag!

Here is what I got in the ah-mazing goody bag...full of organic goodies that I managed to lug all the way home without the bag breaking!
Pukka Herbs Green Tea Selection
Therapi Orange Blossom Moisturiser
Natracare Make-up Removal Wipes
Pai Camellia & Rose Hydrating Cleanser
Neal's Yard Remedies Argan Oil
Inlight Facial Oil
Organic Whole Foods Rose Wine
Nourish Body Butter
Nourish Kale & Argan Hand Cream
Odylique SOS Serum

Wow....can you believe it?! Good job I've been doing the Beauty Challenge otherwise I wouldn't have any room to fit all of this haha!

Thank you so much again ladies!
I hope you enjoyed this post and my vlog & are all enjoying my #OrganicBeauty week posts!
