9 Sep 2014

Green People products are not tested on animals and never contain: Sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, parabens, lanolin, phthalates, propylene glycol, alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol), harsh foaming agents, synthetic fragrances, irritating emulsifiers, PABA-sunscreen, petrochemicals, colourants, urea, DEA, TEA or PEG’S.

Here are some not-so-fun facts about ingredients in beauty products these days...

During the week, Green People are asking consumers to #STANDUPFORYOURSKIN and make one small change with your skincare, which can make a huge difference for your skin, the environment and in the long run, your pocket! Whether you choose to swap your moisturiser, your deodorant or your mascara, making that one small chance can have a huge effect! What will you choose to swap?

Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator* is a 92% certified organic product, filled with pineapple, bamboo & bentonite clay that claims to improve skin smoothness, speed up cell renewal and exfoliate skin whilst de-congesting skin at the same time. It is enriched with 24 beauty-enhancing actives to revive and illuminate for a youthful you.
Key active ingredients:

High-potency enzymes from Pineapple extract gently dissolve the protein bonds to release dead skin cells

Silica-rich extract from Bamboo Stems gently lifts away hardened skin cells

Bentonite Clay unblocks congested pores

This exfoliator is similar to a cleanser in texture but it has very small exfoliating granules that help to get rid of dead skin, allowing products to penetrate deeper. Exfoliators are one of my favourite skincare products as your skin always looks so much better and brighter after. This gentle exfoliator is infused with Neroli, Orange, Roman Chamomile and Red Mandarin and it smells absolutely gorgeous. It's fruity in scent but it isn't too overpowering and makes for a really relaxing "me" time.

After using this, my skin looks fresh and glowing. Although this is specifically aimed at women older than myself, I have been loving using this as I get congested skin around my chin, cheeks & especially on my nose so the bentonite clay in this has helped to keep this under control at the same time as gently removing any dry patches.

  1. Nice post Amber! need to try this exfoliant :-)
In regards to the claim "up to 60% of some ingredients…etc", sorry, but I have to say that I am quite skeptical. I have been trying to search and get my hands on the study from which that claim originates, but so far, I have been unsuccessful… (and even by contacting the companies which uses this claim as well….). ..

  2. Green People is a great company however as Audrey has mentioned the 60% claim is sceptical and I wish companies would refrain from this scare tactic
