EcoTools Make-Up Brushes | Beauty Review

28 Aug 2014

As I am on a no-spend this month, instead of topping up my make-up and skincare I thought I'd treat myself to some make-up brushes from My Pure from the much-loved cruelty free brand, EcoTools.

The Bamboo 6 Piece Brush Set* is the iconic set that started it all off for EcoTools! This environmentally friendly set comes complete with a travel hemp & cotton case and incudes face and eye brushes. Inside is a Blush Brush, Eye Shading Brush, Angled Eyeliner Brush, Concealer Brush and a Lash & Brow Groomer. All of the brushes feature bamboo handles, recycled aluminum ferrules and soft, cruelty-free bristles.

All of the brushes are so so soft, especially the blush brush! The concealer brush works really well with my RMS Un-Cover Up, distributing just enough product under my eyes and on blemishes and the eyeshadow brush packs on the product, with no fall out or smudging either!

£14.99 (6 brushes & case)

The Bamboo 5 Piece Fresh & Flawless Complexion Kit* comes in a book-style box (made from EVA material), and the brushes are smallm, which makes them perfect for travel. The handles again are bamboo but these ones have really cool floral patterns on them making them look so cute amongst the rest of my brushes! Included is a Flat Concealer Brush, a Buffing Concealer Brush, a Precision Foundation Brush, a Complexion Blending Brush and a Full Powder Brush. These five essential brushes work together to design a "photo ready complexion" with mineral, powder or liquid make-up.

Although I'm into green/natural beauty, I'm not really that much into mineral powders, I much prefer liquids but I can say that these work really well with both. I love using the blush brush with my ILIA Tenderly Cream Stick that I put on straight from the tube, and then I blend using the brush and it works perfectly. I also love using the Complexion Blending Brush to put on my liquid foundation. It isn't my favourite, I do still prefer using my RT Expert Face Brush however it is still nice to use if you're on a budget & want more eco-friendly brushes.

If you want to watch my video where I use the brushes to do an everyday, natural make-up demo, click here.

You can buy a range of EcoTools brushes from MyPure here and prices start from just £4.99.

Don't forget you can also get free delivery with MyPure over £15 as well as free gifts with purchase!

  2. I have had my eye on the patterned brushes for a while, I like that they are travel friendly but I am not sure the quality of the bristle is as good as RT or Nanshy Xx
