Indie Lee: Thank You!

18 May 2014

22nd April 2014 was Earth Day and the beautiful Indie Lee was running a social media competition to win a yearlong supply of Indie's beauty products up to $1,000 value! Amazing huh?

I entered the competition and posted a few photos and mantras of what is #simplysecondnature to me and how I live my life naturally! Since going "green" I have made a conscious effort in all ways of life to live more naturally, not only just with my beauty products but looking after myself from the inside out through what I put into my body and how I look after not only my body but also the environment.

I was over the moon to wake up on 23rd April to a tweet from Indie saying that she had chosen me as the winner! I could not believe it; I was so happy I've never got out of bed so quickly in my life! I ran downstairs to tell my sister & step-dad and was just completely ecstatic! I absolutely love Indie's Squalane Facial Oil and a few more of her products were on my wishlist so winning $1,000 worth of Indie's products was just unbelievable and so generous from Indie herself. I have four $250 vouchers to use so I can spread out my buying throughout the year to keep me stocked up all year long! How awesome is that?!

So I thought I would show you what I chose to buy with my first $250 voucher. I am pretty stacked up on beauty products at the minute so I didn't use them all at once. I think next time I order I'll get it sent to some family in the US though that my sisters are visiting in October and ask her to bring it all back because I did get charged pesky customs charges..boo you Royal Mail!!

The Blemish Lotion was on my wishlist so into my basket that went, along with a Blemish Stick, Lemongrass Citrus Body Wash and a Rosehip Cleanser. I haven't tried the body wash yet but it smells so good! I've used the Rosehip Cleanser a couple of times and I'm loving it. It has a sort of perfumy sweet smell, I think because it foams it doesn't smell that much like rosehip oil but it's still lovely to use and makes my skin feel really smooth. The Blemish Stick is fab - I keep it in my handbag for top-ups during the day. I haven't used the lotion yet as I haven't really had any breakouts so I'll give it a go when a beast turns up on my face!

Paul absolutely loves my Squalane Oil (he used 5 pumps of it once....almost the end of our relationship LOL) so I ordered him one of those and I did order one for Mia but I've just ran out of mine so I've kept this one & I'll order her another one next time!

The Calendula Eye Balm is the product I was most excited about as I have been trying to battle these dark circles for years now and they're just not getting any lighter! I was going to buy it in New York but I spent all my money ha! Ria from Naturia Beauty did a review on this a couple of months back and the difference was incredible so I'm really excited to try this! I've used it a couple of nights in a row now and it's lovely and soothing under the eyes so I'm eager to see how well this helps with my unwanted dark circles!

I also bought the Vanilla Citrus Moisturising Oil because the reviews made it sound so lovely and it's a multi-purpose oil so you can use it on your body or face and some reviews said it worked well to tame fly-away hairs! I used this straight away and it just smells soooo good. It's not overpowering or really that strongly scented but its just enough and it moisturises like a dream.

I love this flyer that came with the parcel too - so true! I'm going to put this up in my bedroom!

Thank you so much again Indie & everybody who works with Indie. I still cannot believe I won and I'm so incredibly grateful that I have this chance to try out all of your products.

Amber

    1. Aw thank you Ana! Haha yeah he always uses my oil so I had to get him his own, he'll probably use it all in a couple of weeks! The body oils are lovely, would be great if ABW could stock them, they're huge too! Xx

  2. What an amazing prize and you definitely need to find a way around those custom charges, I understand why they do it but it's very frustrating. You are going to laugh but I haven't tried this brand because I'm not sure that the products actually appeal to me as much as everyone is raving about them. I kind of get like that from time to time. Call me weird but there you go ;-)

    1. I know it was very annoying...£8 of it was Royal Mail handling charges and the other £30 was taxes...grrr! Indie had even put "gift" on the parcel but as they have to put the price they still charged me... Haha I get what you mean! They are lovely though so you should try them one day ;)

    1. The squalane oil is lovely...so lightweight yet still super moisturising. It is odorless and no colour but you can apply foundation literally about 30 seconds after applying the oil and you just get this lovely dewy glow :) x

  11. You're such a lucky girl! I was so happy for you when I saw that tweet from Indie! I really want to try more of Indie's products. At first I wasn't too happy with the Blemish Lotion as it was very drying for me during the winter...but I've found a way to make it work for me ( I may have to do an updated blog post!). I can't live without the blemish lotion as I save it for those big, stubborn blemishes!
