ILIA Polkadots & Moonbeams Illuminator Review

1 Apr 2014

In February I found a website called BeautyMart who were having a 50% sale. I quickly had a look and not really knowing what they sold, I was excited to see that they had a few natural brands on offer. ILIA was one of the brands and out of all the products available, the illuminator stood out for me. I had been using MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl until I bought this so I was desperate for a natural alternative.

It is a cream highlighter that looks lovely on cheek bones, cupids bow, brow bone and the bridge of your nose . It is only a very faint shimmer and you might have to move your screen/head around a bit to see it on my hand but when it catches the light it looks gorgeous! I use this over my liquid foundation in the day for a dewy glow or at night time for an extra bit of shimmer! The stick is quite a hard texture so I use my fingers to get some of the product off the stick and dab onto my skin and blend it in, which I find gives the best finish.

The product is 85% organic and comes in gorgeous aubergine colour recyclable box and the stick is in a beautiful gunmetal grey tube which looks amazing in my make-up collection and gives it a little bit of eco-luxe!

This costs £30.00 however it was on offer on Beauty Mart for £15.00 so it was a very good price. Although it looks lovely I'm not sure I would be that impressed if I had paid the £30 for it and probably wouldn't re-purchase however I'm glad I got to try it for half the usual price!

You can get it here from BeautyMart.

Have you tried anything from ILIA? What would you recommend?

  2. High five to my fellow bargain hunter! I lose hours looking for the best prices online...if time = money, I'm not so sure I'm doing things right, haha. That is a serious deal, good work! I'm really intrigued by ILIA's illuminators - I'm glad to hear you like it so much! Seems perfect for spring. :)
