Salcura Product Reviews

13 Jan 2014

I was recently contacted by a brand called Salcura and they asked me if I would like to try some of their products to consider for review. I have been suffering with eczema and their products are natural yet claim to be effective at helping to soothe eczema and dry/itchy skin so I was so happy they contacted me.

They kindly sent me four products for review. I have recently discovered that the cause of my Pompholyx eczema has been a fungal infection (gross, I know I must have caught it from the gym/swimming pool!) and it is now almost gone thanks to these products. I had been getting small blisters on my hands but it spread to my feet and my body but I stopped using the doctors prescription stuff to give these all fair reviews and I'm so happy with the results. As I type this I have one blister on my hand and a couple that have just cleared up (I used to have about 5-8 on each hand in around September/October) and then another one on my foot.

I was sent the DermaSpray* but as my eczema had almost gone I passed this onto my Mum as she suffers quite badly from psoriasis and her skin was especially dry when I received this. It is a liquid spray that doesn't need rubbing in. "It's non greasy, pure & natural and relieves itching by calming the skin with ingredients such as Sea Buckthorn Oil, Aloe Vera & Rosemary Oil." My mum tried this and she told me that it wasn't greasy, she just sprayed it on however it doesn't smell very nice. I also used this to spray on my back as I had a few eczema like patches and it definitely soothed my skin and helped to stop itching at night. As we have been on holiday my mum hasn't used this that much and the smell is really off-putting for her so I think I'll pass this onto my boyfriend as he's suffering with eczema now too and will give it a full review when I get his verdict!

I was also sent the Zeoderm Skin Repair Moisturiser* which is a cream moisturiser that is ideal when skin is dry or cracked and includes a patented ZeomaZ ingredient that rejuvenates and restores skin. It's star ingredient is Volcanic Zeolite that defends against skin cell damage, binds and eliminates toxins and calms itching and inflammation. It has anti-fungal properties so I was eager to try this instead of the Dactakort the doctors had given me that was full of parrafin wax (gross). The reviews on this product were pretty amazing so I had high hopes for this product. I stopped using my Dactakort so that I could give this cream a fair review and I am so glad I did. My eczema has literally almost gone. Apart from a couple of blistery spots on my hands and feet it has all cleared up! I even had my boyfriend using this on holiday! This is my favourite product and will definitely be re-purchasing this along with the hand wash. You can get it here from £8.99 for 50ml.

Salcura Hand Wash* is another product that was sent to me & I'm so happy I got to try this. I have been using my Neal's Yard hand wash recently but it's quite expensive and this one is only £6.99 which is a very reasonable price. It's free from SLS, parabens and other artificial ingredients. It's packed full of Sea Buckthorn Oil which is a vital ingredient for skin repair and healing. This is a great product, it smells gorgeous and foams up really well considering it doesn't contain SLS. My hands feel moisturised afterwards and not at all dry which is great. I got a couple of blisters on my hands on holiday and I think it was because I wasn't using this everyday combined with the cold weather so I will definitely be repurchasing this! You can get it here for £6.99.

The Bath Oil* is an omega rich formula that doesn't contain paraffin or parabens. It's full yet again of Sea Buckthorn Oil and helps to cleanse and moisturise dry and sensitive skin. When I first poured this into the bath, I was a bit taken aback because it just sort of sat on the top of the water and looked so greasy so it made me a bit worried. (Kind of like when you get a hot chocolate from Costa and the grease sits on the top!) However, once I got in (and slid around a little!) I noticed that it was actually moisturising on my skin and it did feel soothing and relaxing. My skin felt super smooth afterwards and definitely less itchy. This would be ideal for small babies and children if they're itchy and need soothing. However, this did leave a yellow residue around the edge of the bath and it was super slippy afterward (Sorry Leila!). I forgot to tell her I had used it and she nearly slipped over a few times so you do need to give the tub a rinse down after using this as it could be potentially dangerous! This is £12.99 for 225ml here.

If you're suffering with itchy skin, eczema, psoriasis or just want some natural products without nasty chemicals in them then these are definitely a brand to try! Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of their products and the results are incredible. Salcura also offer free samples of some of the products and have a 30 day money back guarantee if you aren't happy with the products which is amazing!

  1. I like the spray during the summer as I find it cooling when you are feeling a little hot and sticky. I use the Gentle Derma Spray because I disliked the fragrance of the other one but I found the results the same.
